Description
Utilizing some of the latest and greatest ASIC-based architecture, the Cisco Nexus 7000 F248XP provides datacenter-class, scalable switching at speeds over 15 Tbps. Each of the fiber module ports can be used at either 1- or 10-Gigabit Ethernet speed depending on the users? needs, and a fully populated 18-slot switch can pass up to 11.5 billion packets per second. With a port-to-port latency under 6 microseconds, it?s an ideal solution for latency-sensitive applications. All of this speed comes with reliable uptime thanks to online insertion and removal, and with a power consumption of just 7.5W per port.
The N7K F248XP features extensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 functionality and forwarding capability on Cisco NX-OS, the Nexus operating system designed for resiliency, fault management, high availability, and modularity. Cisco?s FabricPath combines the ease-of-use of Layer 2 networks with the robustness and flexibility of Layer 3 routing. FabricPath simplifies provisioning, reduces bottlenecking, and provides scalability by allowing existing Ethernet networks to connect to a FabricPath environment.
Optional licensing provides the N7K F248XP with Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), allowing data center traffic can be consolidated onto one high-performance network while minimizing physical infrastructure requirements.
A wide array of security features includes ACL processing for SGTs, data integrity, and line-rate data confidentiality, part of Cisco TrustSec technology.
