The form-factor Cisco Unified Computing System combines Cisco?s C-Series rack servers and B-Series blade servers, with networking and storage access, in a simplified and cost-effective system. The UCS C240 M3 rack server is designed for both performance and scalability over resource-demanding infrastructure workloads, from big data to collaboration.

This server rack offers either two IntelXeon processors or E5-2600 v2 processors, 24 DIMM slots, 24 disk drives, and four 1 Gigabit Ethernet LAN-on-motherboard ports, to provide crucial levels of internal memory and storage expandability. With up to 12 LFF or 24 SFF internal drives, the Cisco UCS C240 M3 optionally offers 10,000-RPM and 15,000-RPM SAS drives to distribute a high number of I/O operations per second for transactional workloads. This model also offers low-latency, lossless, 10-Gbps Ethernet and industry-standard FCoE and native Fibre Channel fabric, requiring fewer interface cards, cables, and upstream network ports.

This rail kit does not come with CPU, memory, HDD, power supply, PCIe. It does come with a 24-drive backplane and a SAS expander.
