The Cisco 4948E platform is a wire speed fixed configuration switch designed to optimize server switching performance. With up to 4 10Gb uplinks, hardware IPv6 and both front to back and back to font airflow options, the WS-C4948E is the most widely used ToR switch in the industry.

The 4948E is fully customizable to fit your datacenter heat management strategy, allowing for simple compliance with your hot isle cold isle scheme through front to back or back to front options for all fans on the device, including power supply fans. With 1 1 AC or DC power supply options and hot swappable fans, the 4948E is ideal for mission critical applications where downtime is not an option.

This particular model (WS-C4948E) comes standard with front-to-back cooling, and does not ship with apower supply in order to allow you to specify your power requirements separately. For back-to-front cooling, please inquire about the availability of WS-C4948E-F switches.
