The Cisco ATA190 Analog Telephone Adapter provides a means to convert traditional telephony endpoints into IP devices. This gives you the ability to take advantage of new powerful and flexible VoIP technologies without having to replace your existing analog devices.
Each Cisco ATA 190 supports two RJ-11 voice ports, each with its own telephone number. The analog adapter also has a single 10/100 RJ-45 Ethernet port. The RJ-45 port connects the analog devices attached to the ATA to your network.
In addition to analog phones, other devices such as fax machines can be used with the ATA 190. This allows you to maintain your current workflows and hardware as you transition to newer, IP based technologies.
