Cisco’s WS-C3850-12XS-S switch provides 12 10G SFP+ ports in a 1RU form factor. With the addition of a C3850-NM-4-10G, this switch can be expanded to support 16 SFP+ ports. As an SFP+ port can support both 10G and 1G transceivers, this switch allows the integration of a variety of device types of varying speeds. The stacking support of the 3850 line provides 480 Gbps of internal stack bandwidth. This allows stacking between 10G switches like the WS-C3850-12XS-S and 1G copper switches eliminating the bottlenecks associated with single trunk ports.
