ASR1001-X Overview
The ASR 1001-X Aggregation Services Router is a highly scalable modular routing platform tailored for use in WAN edge and branch environments. This router has 6 fixed gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 built in 10GB SFP+ ports. While the ESP is built in, the license options and SPA slot on this device allows for a great deal of customization. SPA Cards allow the addition of Optical Carrier connections, additional GE ports, or even DSP features. This allows for a powerful and diverse range of connectivity and service options, making it an ideal choice for enterprise WAN and service provider applications. With pay as you grow throughput licensing, a wide range of SPA adapters, and a wide array of built in services, the ASR1001-X can scale as your network requirements do, eliminating the need for costly and inconvenient hardware upgrades.
